Kindness by Design #2: Online Displays of Affection

Online Displays of Affection {Kindness by Design: Planning towards a kinder life. Blog series via CreativeClementine.com}

Today's quick life tip is a little more modern than last week's:  Schedule some relationship TLC via the internet--show online displays of affection.

When life gets busy, it's not a bad idea to dedicate ten minutes a week or even twenty minutes a month planning some public displays of affection. Tools like Tweetdeck and Hootsuite make it super easy to look like you are on the ball with life at all times. Don't just use it to schedule posts for business--use it to sustain your personal life, too.

You never need to look like a mean forgetful person again! Technology has your back.

THREE EASY WAYS FOR ONLINE DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION:

1. "Throwback Thursday"
Tool of choice: Facebook scheduling tool

Everyone loves a good ol' throwback Thursday pic. Bust out your old photos and schedule a few #TBT posts as often as you think you need it. This comes with one drawback: Instagram, while popular for TBT, is not scheduling friendly (hence the "insta"). Facebook is a tough one to properly tag people on via scheduling tools like Hootsuite, but you can schedule it right on FB now. Fancy, right?

2. "Follow Friday"
Tool of choice: Hootsuite or Tweetdeck

Whether you run a business, a blog, or a personal brand (or all of the above), it is never a bad idea to show some #FF love. As with any #FF post, try to state a clear purpose with your tweet rather than just randomly listing people. Schedule a few in advance of special occasions, holidays, or other timelines that fit. For example, you may decide to post an #FF tweet after Christmas to thank the shops you got gifts from.

3. Birthday Wishes
Tool of choice: Facebook scheduling tool, or Boomerang for Gmail

You can use either of the above methods to reach out to someone on their birthday, but sometimes you want to get a little more personal and a little less public. This is where good ol' fashioned email comes in. I use Boomerang for Gmail to schedule emails in advance.

Do you use schedulers to keep up on your relationships?? And if not... do you think you'll start? How? :)
